ANTIQUE APPRAISAL:
Work with appraiser, cashier, arrange area, instruct customers of process
AUCTION:
Donated item pick-ups with trucks, man storage garage for deliveries, donate items, Week of Lawn Fete: Wednesday and Thursday move and organize items for Auction. Saturday: need registrars and cashiers (some computer knowledge helpful), move items for auctioneers and clean-up after 7:00PM.
BOOKBAY:
Sort and box donated books, CDs, and DVDs; Week of Lawn Fete Friday unpack items, categorize and price items, cashier, pack up leftover items and clean-up 3:00PM
CAR CRUISE-IN:
Enter your antique, classic, custom car for prizes and trophies. Have fun viewing the variety of cars and vote for your favorite in the cruise-in.
CHICKEN DINNER PREP
Develop menu, purchase items, update list of donated food items, preparation of items
DINING ROOM DECORATION
Determine theme for decorations for Harper Hall, purchase table and room decorations, put up decorations, wrap silverware, set tables and decorate, provide balloons for all outside booths
DINING ROOM HOSPITALITY
Develop ideas, serve food, bus tables, serve beverages, host tables
GRILLING OF CHICKENS
Assemble block grill, start and tend charcoal fire, cook chickens, disassemble blocks
ENTERTAINMENT
Recruit family entertainment, such as, magicians, pocket ladies, barbershop quartets, piano players, and work with youth group performers
GAMES
Energetic people to select games and prizes for the BIG day, assemble game booths and tents. Smiling faces to staff the games and rides as well as sell game/ride tickets.
GROUNDS
Set-up and tear down of booths, tents, tables, chairs, electrical, trash pick-up, security, sound system
KID’S KORNER
Sort, price and box donated items starting May 18 (5:30 PM to 8:00PM at the Manse, bring your own sandwich and drink); Thursday, Friday and Saturday the week of Lawn Fete unpack and arrange items in tent, cashier, pack up left over items in boxes.
MARKETING/PUBLICITY
Develop programs for participation of all age groups , develop articles for media, brochures, newsletters, bulletin, develop outdoor signage
SNACK BOOTH
Cook food, assemble foods, serve food, cashier, clean up, set up and tear down
SYCAMORE MARKETPLACE
Donate unique hand made craft items, donated food items (jellies, candies, your surprise!) and donated baked goods, monies to help group purchase ingredients for items to be made, work day of Lawn Fete.
TREASURES AND TRINKETS
Weekly Monday fellowship nights starting May 4 at 5:30PM to 8:00PM, sort, price and box donated items; Thursday, Friday, Saturday Week of Lawn Fete— cashiers and helpers for sale of items , sorting and displaying, clean-up after 5:00PM.
SILENT AUCTION
Sub-Committee Chairs
Solicitation: Write letter to businesses, contact businesses for gift certificates or product donations,
Hearts and Hands/Handmade Donations: Collect hand crafted items, ie, quilts, afghans, wood items, photographs, paintings
Baskets: Collect items and/or baskets, design and wrap baskets
Computerized registering of items and recording payment of items
Taste Of Sycamore: Recruit volunteers to provide baked goods or cooking talents
Day of Lawn Fete: Monitor displays, work at auction, clean up. Write thank you letters to all businesses or basket and item donors
